Ectropion

Usually occurring in the elderly, ectropion is an outward turning of the lower eyelid. When looking at a person with this condition, you will start to see the inside of the lower lid as the eyelid turns outward. This condition is accompanied by increased redness and tearing due to chronic dryness. They may also have increased mucous discharge. An outpatient surgical procedure is performed to reposition the lower lid in its natural position.
