Anthony "AJ" Barbiero, O.D.

Anthony “A.J.” Barbiero, OD, answers questions and helps patients see better at WK Eye Institute South. As a primary eye care provider, he enjoys getting to know your unique eye structure because two sets of eyes are never the same. Dr. Barbiero provides routine eye exams, diabetic eye exams and eye care for cataract surgery patients. He has a special interest in ocular (eye) disease and serving patients who need special fitting for their contact lenses. Patients who have questions about their eye health feel especially comfortable with Dr. Barbiero as he takes time to answer their questions so they have a good understanding of their vision.

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Barbiero graduated from University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in political science. Next he graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, with a doctoral degree. A board-certified optometrist (National Board of Examiners in Optometry and Louisiana State Board of Optometry Examiners), Dr. Barbiero treats patients age six and older.

Away from the clinic, Dr. Barbiero likes to spend time with his wife, Anna, who is from North Louisiana. Together they enjoy the flavor of local restaurants. He also likes to exercise.
