Anthony "AJ" Barbiero, OD

Anthony “A.J.” Barbiero, OD, is a board-certified optometrist (National Board of Examiners in Optometry and Louisiana State Board of Optometry Examiners) who helps patients see better at WK Eye Institute South. He practices optometry for patients ages six and older.   

Eyes are a window into the body, a philosophy that guides the practice of Dr. Barbiero. He treats patients like family as he listens carefully to your eye troubles, observes your eye structure and helps you understand the eye care you need. In addition to routine eye exams, Dr. Barbiero has a special interest in ocular or eye disease, and special fittings for contact lenses. He also cares for cataract surgery patients and provides diabetic eye exams.   

Dr. Barbiero comes to Shreveport with his wife, a North Louisiana native. His undergraduate education was a degree in political science/pre-optometry at University of Utah, followed by his doctoral degree at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.   

In his free time, Dr. Barbiero enjoys exercising and trying new local restaurants with his wife.
